Jacksonville Restaurants - Blogs
I'm not a big fan of large chain restaurants but I wanted to share a great example of how a restaurant can mess up but quickly amends the situation by responding to the the situation. It was Frday night so as one can expect, there was a 35 min wait for us to be seated. Once seated, we got our drinks quickly and put in our order for an appetizer platter. I asked the waitress a few questions about their "new" entrees and what she would recommend? Turns out she couldn't really tell me much since she never tried a few of the new items. In my book, wait staff should know how the food tastes in order to properly explain to customers!.
Our soup and salad came out, followed shortly by our entrees. I asked "Where is our appetizer?" and the waitress replies "Oh, sorry!" Not really a big deal that we didn't get the appetizer so I cancelled it, an we dived into our entrees. I enoyed mine but couln't say the same for my wife. So, I sent it back and re-ordered the appetizer, which came out fast :)
We asked for the bill, and was told that the appetizer was on the house and that the entree we sent back was not charged. I thought this gesture was a good one to bring us back as customers.

"Florida is one of the more recent states to try the food stamp restaurant program. In 2010, the federal government started the Alachua County Food Assistance EBT Restaurant Program for the homeless." Will Jacksonville follow suit?
Yum! Brands (the parent company of Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, KFC, Long John Silver's and A&W ) is lobbying to have food stamps be accepted at their restaurants. Is this a good move? Nutritionally, everyone knows that fast food is not very good for you. I don't think this is a good idea!!!
