LA CENA RESTAURANT
Atmosphere: Don't let the facade deter you from having a unforgettable dinner experience at La Cena. As you enter, there is a very well stocked wine bar and some tables. Go further back and you will be seated in the main dining area. All tables are well placed and far apart enough that lends itself very well for quiet conversations and privacy. Lighing is perfect; all tables are candlelit; and even though its fine dining, it has a charm and remains unpretentious. La Cena is not huge restaurant so reservations are recommended.Menu: La Cena menu is can be described as Italian Continental Cuisine. The menu includes Fish, Pastas, Veal and Chicken Scaloppine, and Meats that are prepared in variations. The Pastas are hand made - something very few restaurants still do! I have been here countless times and every dish I've had there is excellent and fresh. My favortie meal here is the Spaghettini Carbonara (click to see description), and is for me, hands down the BEST I've had anywhere. It rivals and beats upscale Italian restaurants in NYC. My constant companions to La Cena have also chosen their favorites that they get constantly - Chicken Parmesean and Pasta with Shrimp and Scallops. All entrees and pasta portions are huge. We have our favorites and stick with them - you will find one also as the food is always consistent in its preparation. (Click here to see La Cena's Menu)
The Service: Excellent. The staff is very knowledgeable when it comes to both the wines and the food. They can easily pair wines with your meal or simply suggest one that is suited to your taste preferences. Appetizers and entrees come out in a timely manner. Attention to your tables is better than many fine dining establishments...before your wine or water glass is empty, it is filled by the staff! I also give very high marks to Chef Jerry whose food is consistent and top quality!
I highly recommend La Cena. Find your favorite dish there and you will keep going back!
